High Voltage Low Voltage (Virtual Instructor)

The HVLV Switchgear Operations Course (Virtual) aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills on high voltage and low voltage switchgear operations, particularly how to perform HV and LV switchgear switching and isolation operations effectively and safely. The first part of the course introduces the learner to topics on the dangers of electrical hazards, electrical safety and the law, and safe systems of work. Next, topics on the overview of power network structure, detailed coverage of the electric distribution systems and the synchronization of distributed generators are discussed. The construction, types and operations of High Voltage Switchgear and Low Voltage Switchgear systems are presented next. Compiling and implementing Switching Plan including performing switching, switchgear isolation and re-energization is covered as the final topic. To enhance the learning process, the course includes video shows of practical demonstrations of HV and LV switchgear switching and isolation, and implementation of a switching plan.

This course is designed for electrical personnel involved in the operations and maintenance of power distribution networks and switchgear in onshore/offshore or fixed installations.
